Dove sarei arrivato se fossi stato inteligente. Ubi Ego?
 Where would I be if I’ve been smart? Where is Ego?


The war in Croatia just started. I remembered Joseph Beuys and his performance from 1971 named "Dove sarei arrivato se fossi stato inteligente?" I asked myself same question. I was sitting at the hospital table writing down messages in a pad with carbon paper. I was tearing down the originals, drilling holes in the wall, and putting my messages in the holes subsequently sealed with silicone glue. Those filled holes in the wall constitute a message in Braille alphabet – UBI EGO, Where is Ego? After performance audience could read the messages I have written.

Angel of God, my guardian dear
To whom God’s love commits me here
Ever this day be at my side
To light and guard and rule and guide
I remember the day I lost my innocence
I remember the moment I consented to step aside
I remember all things I used to thought about that are just memories now
Give me back my blue head
Give me back my innocence
Abolish Ego
Abolish wanting
Who speaks good speaks bad
Who speaks bad speaks good
Who knows – doesn’t know
Who doesn’t know – knows
In front of three ways, two are easy and one is hard, I’m choosing the hard one, for me that’s freedom
