The audience enters the dark gallery where, under the spotlight, lies a piece of white linen in the center of the floor. Two long and sturdy wooden sticks are set parallel on the linen. The digitally-manipulated sound of whipping echoes through the gallery. The fast rhythm of whipping and the biting power of sound slow down so that the sound modulation gains in length and depth to the point of unrecognizability. The sound as well as the intervals of silence are getting longer. During one of the intervals I step out of the audience accompanied by the assistant and we enter the light. We silently strip to our waists, pick up the sticks and take the position for the blow. At the same moment we hit each other on the back with all our strength. We put our clothes on and leave.
